Time & Attendance Company Setup

For organizations that are enrolled in Empeon's Time and Attendance integration, having an understanding of the system's configuration is important for ongoing maintenance and system troubleshooting. While it is Empeon's Implementation team that initially configures the time and attendance system, these settings are available to Workforce Users to maintain as needed.

In all cases, the company-level backend settings of the time and attendance system are pre-configured based on the details provided in the Time & Attendance Questionnaire. While it's helpful to know where these settings can be viewed and maintained, be mindful that significant changes may impact other areas of the system. If you're unsure or need further clarification when making adjustments to these settings, feel free to reach out to Empeon's Customer Support team for assistance.

Please note the following Cards located within the Attendance section of the Company tab:

  • Attendance Settings: This Card includes various settings that pertain to how the attendance system displays information, determines feature availability, and manages how time may be added and reviewed within the time card. 
  • Callout Reasons: This is a Card specific to Empeon's Advanced Scheduler Module. It establishes the various reasons that can be used when an employee needs to call out from an assigned shift.
  • Custom Holidays: This Card is used to add custom holidays that an organization may observe in addition to the standard holidays. Organizations can use this feature to recognize special occasions or events significant to their culture, ensuring that all employees are informed about these additional days of significance.
  • HPPD: This Card is used to configure the HPPD Standard Report that is available within Empeon Workforce and how the report calculates and displays hours per patient day.
  • Pay Rules: This Card helps align the time and attendance system with payroll by setting parameters based on how the organization processes their regularly scheduled batches.
  • PBJ Settings: This Card is available exclusively for companies required to perform Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) Reporting. Empeon's Time and Attendance Module tracks all essential data needed for PBJ reporting, and this Card is used to maintain relevant PBJ settings.
  • Scheduling: This Card is used to create customized Schedule Patterns for assigning employees their work schedules. This feature of the time and attendance system is often referred to as the "Basic Scheduler" since Empeon also offers an Advanced Scheduling Module for organizations needing more intricate scheduling options.
  • Time Rules: This Card sets forth various rules governing how punches are entered, including rounding rules, duplicate punch buffers, and the handling of punches that span across multiple days. There is the ability within this Card to set up multiple sets of rules catered toward different groups of employees, if necessary.
