Time & Attendance - Custom Holidays
In addition to standard federal holidays, Empeon Workforce allows organizations to register custom holidays that are unique to their company or culture. This feature enables businesses to designate specific days to be treated as holidays for payroll and attendance purposes, whether they celebrate a company-wide anniversary, cultural observances, or other special events not recognized as federal holidays. These custom holidays will be configured within the system and ensure that any time worked or paid on those days is handled according to the organization's specific holiday rules.
Please note that the system already recognizes the following holidays:
- New Years Day
- Martin Luther King Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- Labor Day
- Columbus Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
To view or add a custom holiday, navigate to the Attendance section of the Company tab and select the Custom Holidays Card.
This section displays all active custom holidays that have already been set up, providing options to view, edit, delete, or deactivate each holiday as needed. To add a new custom holiday, click the blue "+ New Company Custom Holiday" button in the top right corner of this screen.
When adding a new custom holiday, there are three fields that need to be established:
- Code - A code of up to 10 characters that best reflects the holiday.
- Description - Here is where more information can be provided on the holiday and its intended purpose.
- Dates - Enter the dates this day will be observed on. Please note that multiple dates will need to be added if this is a holiday that is observed across multiple days or if it is a holiday that recurs yearly. Ongoing maintenance of these dates may be necessary as time goes on. To add a date, click the blue 'plus' sign in the top right corner of this section.
Once all fields have been established, click "Save" to formally add the holiday to the list of Custom Holidays.
