Creating a Path

To create a Path, navigate to the Paths section within the Company tab. Paths that have already been created will be displayed here, with the option to create a new Path, simply by clicking the blue "+ New Path" button. If there are no Paths that have been set up, there will be a blue button labeled "Build my first path".

There are three main steps when creating a Path:

  1. Establish a Path Name. This should reflect how the Path will be used, or whom it may be sent to.
  2. Define the Sections within the Path. Sections help to categorize the series of tasks that will be included within the Path. For example, a Section titled “Company Policies” can be used to group Tasks related to company policies. There is no limit to the number of Sections that can be added, but each Path must include at least one Section with an assigned name. To add another Section, simply click the blue button labeled "+ Add another section".
  3. Assign Tasks to Sections. Within each Section, there is an “+ Add Task” button where Tasks can be assigned. This step should be repeated for each Task that needs to be added to its respective section.

As a Path is constructed, the sequence of Sections and the organization of Tasks within each Section will determine the order in which the recipient engages with the Path. With this in mind, it may be necessary to reorganize the Sections and/or Tasks within a Section to ensure the correct order.

This can be handled by using the “Drag to reorder” icon to the left of either the Section or the Task. Simply hold down your mouse and drag it to the desired position. Please note that when reordering Tasks, they cannot be moved between Sections; they can only be rearranged within the Section it was initially assigned.

Once all components of the Path have been completed, click “Save” to finalize the Path.

If a Path is intended to be sent to a new hire through an onboarding packet, it must be incorporated into the configuration of the Onboarding Template. When considering any additional Documents that should be included with the Path for a new hire, there is no need to add the I-9 or W-4 forms, as the option to include these forms is already included when sending the Onboarding Template.
